Mrs. Duke mightn’t have captured her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is one of the most feared poker competitors around the live action matches at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with success at the "buried game" of Omaha hi low.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run crazy after a large win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. Annie was born in New Hampshire into a family of poker players. If you do not accept that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to gamble on the game.
However, Mrs. Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has won her cut of difficult tables, including knocking out Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both players that have the capability to win the huge money and do it with a grin.
Annie Duke is a strong player at any poker table because she is a genuine poker player, but it’s a bit more than just being good at the game. Mrs. Duke is incredibly smart and graduated from Columbia U where she majored in English and Psychology.
When you are seated across from her at the table you’ll see she is there to compete in the game and she begins "summing" you up as soon as you sit down at the table. If you cannot play like a camp, then don’t waste your time.
Earning over three million dollars in tournament play, Mrs. Duke became a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to hone his abilities and become a force at the tables.
You may see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely notice Annie on the tv and you might even play against her in a cyber poker match, but don’t expect an easy win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you will not defeat her. Although, it would be exciting to mention you sat at the at the table with "The Duke".
