No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative comments from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and a continuing love for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
