Beginners Strategy for Double-Hand Poker

Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the west in an excellent game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler versus the dealer, unlike most other poker games that gamblers compete against other players. By competing against the dealer, beginning players don’t have to fret about other, more advanced gamblers winning their money.

Another Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game pace, beginners should be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make frenzied choices.

It is also easier to participate in for a long time with only a small amount of money since, to not win, both of your hands must be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino gets 7 cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
