Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the wild west in a fantastic game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the croupier, unlike the majority of other poker games that players bet with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, new players don’t have to worry about other, more advanced gamblers taking their mulla.
A further Pai Gow benefit is the generally leisurely game play, rookies can take their time and plan while not having to make hasty selections.
It is also easier to enjoy for an extended time with just a small bit of money after all, to not win, both of your hands has to be under both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards face up and the croupier receives seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the casino’s.
