No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. He would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the negative feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

He started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for the game of poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
